Creating Your Estate Plan

FREE Virtual Lunch & Learn

Join us from your location for this lunchtime professional development session on estate planning — a crucial activity for people of all ages and all levels of wealth. When done properly, it can safeguard more than an individual’s finances, it can create a legacy. However, it is estimated fewer than 1/3 of Americans have a plan in place. Estate planning may seem like a daunting chore, but this session is here to help!

Proper estate planning can allow individuals to pass their assets to beneficiaries as they see fit and can minimize the state and federal taxes that accompany the transfer of significant wealth. Additionally, estate planning can enable individuals to distribute their wealth as they intend at their death.

Underberg & Kessler LLP attorney, Joshua B. Beisker, will share insight into the importance of estate planning and breakdown the subject into easy-to-understand sections, including:

Joshua B. Beisker, Esq., Partner, Underberg & Kessler LLP, is chair of the firm’s Estates & Trusts, Tax Law, and Corporate practice groups. Josh advises clients in the areas of estate, succession, and transition planning for all individuals as well as owners and principals of closely held businesses. He provides strategies and techniques to best ensure that an individual’s assets will be protected during life and pass to beneficiaries in a streamlined and tax efficient manner at death.

He also represents corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and individuals in connection with mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, business planning and financing, and he counsels businesses on day-to-day operations.

Josh is a frequent lecturer at numerous organizations including the National Business Institute, universities and other educational institutions, adult education programs, financial planning organizations, alumni groups, and community organizations. He is a member of the Rochester Regional Health Foundation Planned Giving Committee, the Estate Planning Council of Rochester, and the Monroe County Bar Association.

He received his B.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, his LLM in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law, and his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law.
